This is the best authentic Mexican restaurant I've ever been too. Their street tacos are better than anyone in the area including multiple taco trucks that I've tried. I eat here at least once a week! Highly recommended.

Ran in here for a quick hit Taco lunch on Tuesday and had no idea fortunately the steak and chicken tacos are a solid choice no matter where you're at. here they are great! I love that the tacos came with a assortment of cucumbers, radishes, both of medium salsa and a thing of spicy crema, and loaded up with onion and cilantro. Unfortunately the chicken was pretty dry and flavorless, the tripe chewy, but the steak was good. The salsas were like oh my God hot, but I'm sure for some people that's a positive so I'm not knocking them for that, different folks like different things and you can't please everybody! I was a little confused though that on Tuesday, which is normally a special discount on tacos they're tacos all rang up at 350 each, which is a full dollar and a half more than it said on the menu. However I'm not saying anything too suspicious was going on because as we all know restaurants are hurting right now. I'll definitely be back since they are right down the street, but they don't crack my list of best taco places in the city

I WILL ABSOLUTELY BE BACK! Amazing tacos (only $2) and a delicious chimichanga that taste great the next day! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because the chimichanga was stuffed with rice, I'm not a fan of filler. However, they are winning in flavor, speed of service, and great customer service. I cannot wait to try something new from their delicious menu.

The tacos are traditional Mexican style. Try the al pastor. Do it.

Great Mexican food that hasn't been "Americanized" with strange ingredients. Simple, straight-forward menu. Tacos are delicious. We had a few of the chicken tacos and a burrito plate. The salsas are really good and the chips are complimentary. Service was very friendly.

I have been here quite a few times, and I have never been disappointed with the food. I have always gotten free chips before my meal, and their salsa is one of my favorites in the city. No matter what I've ordered it's always a huge amount of food for cheap. Sometimes it is hard to communicate with the staff if you don't speak a bit of Spanish, but that probably speaks to its authenticity. It is definitely a hole in the wall place, but I don't go there to look at the decor, I go to eat cheap, delicious Mexican food. It isn't spotless, and the menus were kind of sticky on one occasion, but other than that I haven't had an issue with cleanliness. It's about what you expect for the type of place. That being said, it's usually pretty busy whenever I go.

If you're familiar with the Carthage/Elmwood Place area, you've probably noticed that it appears not to have changed one iota since about 1972... a true working class, time capsule neighborhood. It is the seedy stretch of Vine Street between Reading and Spring Grove lined with fledgeling storefront businesses... used appliance stores, greasy spoons, dive bars and the like. Along this stagnate stretch commerce sits Taqueria Valle Verde...a little splash of color and freshness against the rather dreary backdrop of Carthage. It is a modest establishment... A small space with cheap furniture and delightfully cheesy artwork... about what you would expect looking at it from the outside. It wouldn't surprise me if they did more carry-out business than dine-in... especially with gringos such as myself... We ordered a couple beers and they came out with little napkins wrapped around them and tucked in as you might wear a towel after a shower. For some reason, my buddy and I got a kick out of this. When our quesadillas came to the table, it was clear by appearance alone that this place was in the upper 50% of mexican restaurants in Cincy. It is fresh and tasty, and I love that they have 5 different hot sauce options. After some experimentation, the best combination of these sauces was revealed and the rest of the meal was enjoyed to the fullest in light of our findings. One odd glitch, however... They didn't have chips for before the meal.... Wha??? How are you supposed to showcase your fresh and delicious salsa without chips? My only guess is that maybe their margins are so slim that they can't afford to serve food that people usually expect to get for free. If that's the case, they should just charge a couple bucks for it. I don't mind. Just lemme get my dip on! Overall, very good, though. I will definitely stop here on my way home from work for carry-out regularly. Very glad I stopped in...
